Vomeronasal-Organ-Rinsing

An elephant appears to drink as usual (drawing water into its trunk, placing the tip into its mouth and pouring water into it) but after emptying most of the water from its trunk, the elephant presses the tip of its trunk against the roof of its mouth, appearing to rinse its vomeronasal organ. This is a very deliberate action and once informed a keen observer will notice the difference from normal drinking. (83)
