Ear-Flap-Slide

Flapping the ears moderately loudly against the neck and shoulders as the elephant tilts its head upwards and sometimes to one side, causing the ears to make a rasping sound as they rub downward against the shoulders. Signal used especially by adult females, but sometimes also by males and juveniles, of intention to move or to change activity. (76)
