At the end of a Run-After when the chaser gives up, the aggressor extends his trunk upward and outward toward his opponent. Apparently a sign of frustration, “last ditch effort” or perhaps triumph as in “I’ve seen him off!” (29a) A common display following a Run-After by a high-ranking male toward lower ranking male particularly in association with an estrous female; a signal of triumph.
