Tool-Use

Holding in its trunk, an object found in its environment, and using it as a tool in order to achieve a goal such as acquiring food or water, grooming, defence or recreation. An elephant may pick up and hold a stick and use it to scratch an itch or remove a parasite, or may pick up a rock and use it to throw at a predator.
